Best Canadian Comics of 2024!!
Dec, 2024 Not gonna lie, this just made my day!!! (Undoubtedly my week, most likely my month, and maybe even my year!) A big thanks to CBC Books for including “Degrees of Separation” on this list! I’m not half proud for it to be featured alongside these other gems. Read (and re-read) comics everyone! These ones and all the others that came out this year and every other year!! Artists work SO HARD and for SO LONG on these projects and they are each so unique and deserving of

Vancouver Writers Festival
Oct, 2024 It’s been a couple of weeks already that I've been wanting to take a minute to write a thank you post to the @vancouverwritersfest ! It was a great honour and what a treat for little old small town me to participate in such a prestigious big city event. It was spectacularly well organized and the staff, hordes of volunteers, and everyone involved were all lovely and welcoming and it was simply just the biggest treat to be there. ❤️❤️❤️ Here’s a very poor tribute to

Bookends with Mattea Roach
Sept, 2024 - Did you happen to be tuned to the CBC and accidentally catch me on the radio? I bet you didn’t... but the good news is that you can listen to my interview with Mattea Roach on Bookends online! (clicking HERE will get you there) I deliberately made sure our radio was off because I simply didn’t think I could handle hearing myself say «like », « kind of », and « you know » way too often on national radio, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t beyond happy and proud and h

Toronto Comic Arts Festival
May, 2024 And it’s a wrap! Turns out participating in a big comic book festival in Toronto is waaaaay more fun when you don’t have a 3 week old baby strapped to your chest! I’m so glad I went back alone, six years later, and had a much more thorough experience of what the festival had to offer. I signed books, I participated in panels, I met relatives of Yellowknife friends, I brought home a bunch of comic books. I also met up with old friends I hadn’t seen in over a decade,

All in a Weekend
May 2024 I grew up listening to Quebec AM on the CBC, the anglo morning show airing out of Montreal, so I was pretty darn excited to be on those very same airwaves to talk about Degrees of Separation. A big heartfelt thank you to Sonali Karnick for the great chat on All In A Weekend.

The Montreal Comic Arts Festival
May 2024 - I had a blast at the Festival de Bédé de Montréal. The weather was amazing and getting to celebrate comics on the street like this was simply the best. It was great to catch up with old friends, make new friends, buy a lot of books, sit on a few panels, sign a lot of books and talk and talk until I lost my voice. Je t'aime Montréal! À la prochaine. xxx

Interactive story creation
I do this type of this a fair amount, but don't always remember to post about it. Oopsie! Well here's a trace of this particular time! It was a pleasure to host the kiddos for this very fun noon-time hour at the Northwords Writers Festival. A big thanks for having me! That was a blast, as always. I just love those little creative brains. :-)

In The Narwhal
April, 2025 Check it out!! On the home page of The Narwhal this morning! A conversation about Degrees of Separation, with a focus on how climate change is so impactful in so many ways throughout the North. (Also, there’s nothing like seeing your spoken sentences transcribed to realize how much you actually ramble in a semi coherent way. But hey, you get the sentiment!)

Eisner Nomination!!
May, 2025 Eeeeeeeeeee. A big nomination for my big long book!! The Eisner Awards are a really big deal in the comics world. They are THE big US Awards in the industry, and since this poor screenshot is very understated, let me emphasize how EXCITED AND THRILLED AND DELIGHTED AND HAPPY AND HONOURED I am to share that Degrees of Separation is nominated for an Eisner Award. It's also worth noting that other than Feeding Ghosts (which is a spectacular graphic memoir that just won

The Stockholm International Comics Festival
May, 2025 A quick May update - What a whirlwind of a month! I came home from giving workshops in Hay River, went straight to a long weekend of camping with the kids. .. and then straight on to the next big aventure : The Stockholm International Comics Festival ! A very quick summary of a very amazing week : I got up at some insane time, was in transit between Yellowknife and Stockholm for 24 hours, was grateful it was just me and no kids, felt miserable because I was going s

A theatrical adaptation of Degrees of Separation !
Nov, 2025 Did you know there is a theatrical production based on Degrees of Separation underway? How exciting is that?! And the best part is that it’s the initiative of the very cool Tin Can Collective! I’m so honoured that theses super talented young women have chosen my big fat graphic novel as an inspiration for their play - and I can’t wait to see where they take it! I’m keeping out of it, because who needs old me who knows absolutely nothing about theater to be micro-man

I went to Banff!
Oct, 2025 I had the time of my life - in all the ways - and I really can’t do it justice in a social media post. I also didn’t want to let it pass without any mention, so here are a few words about it. It was a 2 weeks Comics and Graphic Novel Residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts. There were 19 participant cartoonists and 3 mentors. We each had a lovely bedroom and amazing studios, and from that amazing studio I saw the mountains and deer and elk. I didn’t think I neede
