It’s been a couple of weeks already that I've been wanting to take a minute to write a thank you post to the @vancouverwritersfest ! It was a great honour and what a treat for little old small town me to participate in such a prestigious big city event. It was spectacularly well organized and the staff, hordes of volunteers, and everyone involved were all lovely and welcoming and it was simply just the biggest treat to be there. ❤️❤️❤️

Here’s a very poor tribute to the amazing week I spent in Vancouver for the Writers Festival. I met lots of great new people, hung out with lots of people I only otherwise see rarely, made friends, and documented none of this in photos. I also walked, and ate, and drank, and danced, and got a new tattoo, and saw authors speak, and worked in my hotel room while watching HGTV, and enjoyed the weird thrill of being without kids for 6 whole days.

Pictured : I participated in the festival, I signed books, I spotted my book in big and small big city bookstores, I enjoyed some great coastal weather… and I came home to snow and Halloween!

I am deeply grateful to be living and creating on Chief Drygeese territory which has, from time immemorial, been the traditional land of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation.
